August Favorites

Hello Dolls,

Hope you enjoyed your August to the fullest. This is our favorite month of the summer! We had beautiful weather all month in Pennsylvania and a few beach trips that were greatly needed. We have nine favorites for this month both makeup and accessories, that we cannot wait to share with you. We choose these pieces because we found ourselves reaching for these product the most throughout the month of AUGUST!

August was a month full of sun for us, both in Pennsylvania and at the beach. Having a good body scrub is very important throughout the entire summer. Between our skin peeling after sun exposure and our feet getting dried out from sandals, a good scrub helps remove the old layer of skin and soften rough areas. I personally love this exfoliating wash because I got to create my own scent: sea breeze and coconut!  www.capemaybathtime.com

One 'N only is a brand found at Sally's that I love. With all the hot weather and swimming, it was easier and healthier to rock my natural curls instead of constant straightening. I found this Argan Oil Curl Cream and fell in love right away. This gives my curls the desired definition I have been wanting. It is lighter than a leave in conditioner and pieces each curl. It also acts as a moisturizer and has a great smell!

The next item is an all over face powder by Nuance and  is a line launched by Salma Hayek. It can be found in drugstores such as CVS but gives the results of a high end cover up. We love this powder because it goes on smooth and easy leaving a flawless look. It is a very lightweight powder which as been amazing with this heat, giving us the option to build up the product when needed. If you are looking for a new and inexpensive cover up we suggest you check this line out.

The next item is from Anastasia's brow line and it is the tinted brow gel in Espresso. I have been using the clear gel however, over time it because tinted because it mixes with my face powder. I found that using the tinted gel I do not have that issue. I was nervous at first because I hate dramatic eyebrows but this color works perfect and the product its self is light. This is my last step in my makeup routine and I will purchase this again for sure.

This month a new mascara was released in drugstores and it was talked about all over the web. We both purchased this Big Eyes mascara by Maybelline to try it for ourselves. The purple end is a regular size brush, designated for the upper lashes and the black end is a thin and shallow brush, which is for the lower lashes. This is a great idea and a unique twist on the regular drugstore mascara.

I have a nail polish obsession and its getting worse by the day! However, I could never justify spending $15.00 and more one nail polish. I cracked and purchased my first Dior nail polish. I choose red because its my go to nail color and I knew I would use it. I have been using this polish a lot because it drys so fast. Before I am done painting all my nails the polish is dry, which is amazing for a girl on the move. I suggest any nail polish fanatics, like us, should purchase at least one color from Dior.
Another first for us is the MAC brand. The closest Mac cosmetic store to us is about an hour. I actually ended up purchasing three lip sticks online. Candy YUM YUM was highlight on the site for being voted number one by their customers. It is a great summer color and can even take you into fall. It is a bright barbie like pink. Perfect pop of color pared with nude eye shadow, subtle cheeks and big lashes!

The next two items are super fun and not make up related! We wanted to switch it up a little bit and share some accessories that we have picked up over the month. The first item is this group of earrings. These are Bongo sold at Kmart. These are a very inexpensive way to add color and a little drama to any look. We picked up four but their are many more and who can go wrong with their prices!

The last item is our favorite! These are Dolce Vita dress slippers in black with metal toes. They were just under $80.00. These are the perfect classic shoe that will take you well into fall. As the evenings being to cool down these are perfect paired with some skinnies and a tank. They can also be dressed up with flowy shorts or a statement skirt. The black acts as a neutral and the pop of shiny metallic is a great accent. You will definitely be seeing these again!

Hope you enjoyed this post and all our August favorites. If you get a chance to try any of the items listed, let us know. This has been fun sharing our secrets with you; enjoy the rest of your Labor Day! Have fun and be safe.

XOXO,

Vintage: Suit Season

Hello Dolls,

Hope your having a great start to your week. Right now we are experimenting with two desired trends: Vintage and matching print sets. We both adore vintage pieces especially jewelry in an everyday look, but why not take an adventure. Samantha found two full pattern suits and we have been dying to show you ladies fashionable ways to rock them. Starting with the vintage or retro trend that is on the rise, it is amazing when you actually find authentic vintage pieces. Its fun to add modern pieces to update the look with out losing the true vibe it holds. The two suits we featured are full patterned, also a popular trend, we choose to use solid white pieces to ground the look such as shoes, purses and undershirts. If the matching set is not for you using one piece such as the skirt with a solid top gives you a more comfortable, toned down look. Below are a few ideas we played around with, also showing the full set and other options. We mixed materials such as lace and chiffon to give it a softer look. The shoes are a snake skin material giving us a little edge. a finishing touch with bold jewelry pieces, just enough to stand out but not compete with the clothing. Check out the pictures!

Hope you ladies enjoyed these looks! If you find yourself gravitating towards these trends let us know. We would love to see your creations.

July's IPSY Glam Bag

Hello Dolls,

I hope you are all having a great start to your week! I know this post is coming a little late but I really wanted to share with yous my IPSY bag from the month of July. IPSY is a monthly subscription website that sends a make up bag filled with five products. It is ONLY $10.00 a month and I'm pretty sure if you pay for the year you may save a few dollars. Now I do not love every product I receive and some items I just do not use personally. However, I make an attempt to try every product and no matter what the items are you receive they are worth way more than $10.00! I have even had offers on instagram (@dreameunoia) to trade items which may help. I was not happy with the June bag however, I am loving this July glam bag and needed to share it with you.

As you can see I received a clear pink bag, which I am obsessed with transparent items right now. I have two other transparent make up bags and i love them because not only can you see everything in them but they are also plane friendly. So during security check you can pull out the make up bag instead of a zip lock bag! Also, I see a lot of girls that are in school using the bags as pencil holders. Either way I'm sure you can find a use for this pretty pink bag. More importantly though...the products! This month we received great products and brands.

The first product is from Sexy Hair (big sexy hair) and it is a weather proof aerosol spray. It is labeled as a humidity resistant spray to help combat frizz. I am familiar with this brand and this is the second product I received under this brands name from IPSY and I really like them. I tried this out all weekend and it feels like nothing!? I know, what? but it really does feel like nothing, it does not leave a film or residue on the hair at all, it is very light. I went kayaking, where you only get splashed slightly and my hair held up great with no frizz.

This next brand is POP beauty, which I am not familiar with. This is the pouty pop crayon in coral crush. I am not a huge fan of this because when applied it actually has a crayon like look. I could never wear this if my lips were at all chapped. It outlines the creases in my lips and it is pretty noticeable. The color is not bad and when I mix it with other lip products the finish is not as noiceable. However, I do not find myself reaching for this product nor would I recommend it.

This item I love! This is Coola, which is a brand made up of all organic skincare products. We love organic anything and to have a sunscreen organic is awesome, especially this time of year. They have all kinds of products even products for babies. I highly recommend checking their site out, www.coolasuncare.com. This is great for all ages and genders and perfect for expecting mothers that do not want to put crazy chemicals on their body but need protection.

Benefit is a great brand that we are both familiar with and use products from. This item is a sample of their Benetint, lip and cheek product. I prefer this on my lips, it leaves a beautiful stand looked. It is a liquid and very  runny which as made me scared to trying on my cheeks. I feel like its a great color, comes out much darker than it actually is, but when I test it on my hand the color ends up on my fingers. I also feel like it would ruin my powder with how liquidity it is. However, I love stains and this is perfect for me, I am Happy with using it only on my lips.

The last product is an eye shadow pallet from BH cosmetics. This is the California Collection consisting of three colors. A deep purple called Hollywood, a natural brown named San Francisco and a golden shade labeled Malibu. I (Mary) am not huge on eye shadows, mainly because of allergies ha!. But ill be honest, I do not have much skill when it comes to eye shadows but when I do try to use shadows these three are my go to shades. So this is perfect for me and I have been experimenting a little.

So as you can see you get some great products and not all the products will work for you but if you love make up I am sure you will enjoy receiving these monthly surprises. Plus, you get more than $10.0 worth of products. This July glam bag made me very happy and I think they covered every  area:  skin, lips, eyes, hair and cheeks/lips. I hope you guys take some time out and check out IPSY and any of the products you feel will work for you!

XOXO,

JUNE FAVORITES

Hello Dolls,

Hey ladies hope you are having a great week and a great month! We want to share with you some of our favorite items from June that got us through these sunny days.  Included is a mixture of products that we found helpful to fight against the heat and the humidity all day long, leaving us with a fresh and natural look.

With the temperatures rising we wanted to find products that helped start our days off clean and refreshed but still moisturized. Biore’s new acne clearing scrub was a great new addition to our morning routine. It not only helps fight acne but also clears and improves your complexion. The scent and exfoliating beads leave you feeling awake and refreshed. Another favorite is rose tea scented body oil by Sabon. We love it as a moisturizer because it’s made of oils, so unlike a lotion it does not lay on top your skin and become sticky in the heat. It is a simple one step process by spraying yourself immediately after showering then dry as normal. Both of these products make our morning routine easy and show lasting results throughout the day.

Our make-up favorites for June consist of a few TOO FACED products that leave us glowing. We highlighted the Highlighting Powder Duo in a previous post but we love it so much we wanted to add it to our favorites. The candle light glow is a split pallet, white being a bright iridescent and pink leaving a warmer iridescent glow. Both highlight of your contouring areas by reflecting the sunlight and giving you a natural summer glow. The Sun Bunny palette is a bronzing powder duo also perfect for reflecting the sunlight an adding a natural glow. We love to set a nice base for the highlighter and bronzer to play off of and right now a big favorite of ours is Full Bloom Blush from Too Faced in Cocoa Rose. It’s the perfect go to blush for summer leaving a natural and fresh look.

We only have two lipsticks for June including an old and new favorite. Revlon’s Just Bitten has been out for a while but we love the bight hue of Smitten (030). Mary Dayne prefers a few dabs to get the bitten look but Samantha loves the daring color with a full application. The bright red lips we see in winter can be replaced with this daring pink to give you that same statement look. Our new favorite is Juice Beauty lip gloss. It was a gift in our ipsy bag and has become quick favorite. It has a great orange scent, very smooth and glossy and a brown sheer color. It can complete any look leaving you with a natural glam look.

Last but not least, nail polishes!! We love a finished and polished look by adding fun colors and corky designs. A few colorful June favorites are Revlon’s Minted (85), Salon Perfect Bellini (117) and Sally Hanson insta-dry Lively Lilac (420). Sally Hanson’s new Fuzzy Coat is just the fun we have been looking for, it comes in a variety of colors but we tested in Tweedy (800), a black and white design.

All of these products have been used and abused because we love them so much. We hope you enjoyed our JUNE FAVORITES and get a chance to experience some of these products.

Xoxo,

Samantha and Mary Dayne

Prime and glow kit- Hit or Throw a fit?

Hello Dolls,

So, I was out shopping the other day, in need of a new fresh look to finish off my make-up and I stumbled across the New Victoria's Secret's Prime and Glow kit at the Semi Annual sale. Regularly priced at $24.00 now half off and only $12.00! The kit includes VS PRO makeup primer, illuminator, Eye lightener and an Eye shadow primer. This kit is a strong foundation before daily makeup application. Almost every product was a hit for me, especially the eye lightener because it really made me appear awake and fresh even after a long night. Another plus being that a small amount goes a long way, so the small bottles the products come in should last a decent amount of time. All the positives of this purchase being said... I have to say that the illuminator that is a bronze shimmer is not my favorite illuminator. I am not "throwing a fit" but I cannot say it was a hit either. I would recommend Too Faced Candlelight Glow Highlighting Powder Duo illuminator; it is so fun and subtle leaving you with a sexy little glow in the sun or cool weather. But my fine ladies I say go out and catch this awesome deal from Victoria's secret while it last! It is the basic all included in one kit for a low price <3
